Maria Buenaventura

(Medellín, Colombia)

María Buenaventura was born in Medellín. She studied philosophy at Universidad de Los Andes, earned a master's degree in Plastic and Visual Arts from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and continued her studies in scenic creation at the International School of Theatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France. She has won awards such as the National Competition for Interventions at Quinta de Bolívar and the District Incentive Program in Bogotá. She has also participated in group exhibitions at the Museum of Antioquia, the National Museum of Colombia, and spaces like El Parqueadero. Additionally, her work "Biblioteca de plantas" (Library of Plants) was part of the "Obra Viva" project of Banco de la República and was presented at the Cultural Center of Tunja. María was part of a group of eight artists nominated for the X Luis Caballero Prize with her project "Alguna vez comimos maíz y pescado" (Once we ate corn and fish).

Cristina Consuegra

(Bogotá, Colombia)

Cristina studied anthropology and economics at Universidad de los Andes and did an MSc. in anthropology and environment at University College London. She is a researcher and cook, and her practice focuses on exploring, through planting, cooking, walking and writing, the relationships of association and care between the human and more-than-human worlds. She has worked as a consultant in biodiversity conservation initiatives, agro-food heritage and traditional cuisines in different regions of Colombia. Her current exploration around the connection between art and cuisine has led her to develop both collaborative and personal projects, and to participate in three artistic residencies (Centre International d'Art et du Paysage, France; Furkablick Institute, Switzerland; and Flora ars+natura, Colombia). Her residency at Flora resulted in the publication "Mundos mutuos. La cocina como taller" (Cajón de Sastre, 2020), of which she is co-author. Other of her recent publications include: "El jardín elemental. Diálogos con la huerta" (Hambre, 2022) y "Cómo cuidar un río" (entre-ríos, 2023).

Milena Camacho Rincón

(Bogotá, Colombia)

Artista e Historiadora del Arte, explora las relaciones que se tejen entre el paisaje, los humanos y el alimento. Desde la historia del arte se interesa en la soberanía alimentaria y en la representación de movimientos sociales a través del arte. Disfruta de la cocina y el dibujo como lenguaje plástico para preparar menús, recetarios e ilustraciones que hablan de lo ritual, la transformación del alimento y del entorno que nos rodea. Como artista le interesan los procesos textiles, tintóreos y cerámicos. Milena es cofundadora de Chanclas Japonesas, taller de encuadernación artesanal de Bogotá, Colombia.
